My natural horror story is actually quite long. In 5th grade my graduation was coming up so I decided to get what is now called lemonade braids....
at an African braiding salon. So the braids were so tight and unbearable that I only left them in for about 4 days. My teacher mentioned how my scalp looked red. When it was time to take the braids out I was crying because I had scabs all around my head that we painful when I touched them. And to mention my edges haven’t been the same since. So fast forward 4 years later I try to get my FIRST sew in.
The lady was braiding fine up until my crown area. I left the hair in for no more than 17 hours before I had to take it out due to the pain. I had a big scab covering my crown area in the middle of my head. I tried to peel the scan without the hair but it couldn’t be avoided.
So October, 2017 I have a big bald patch in the MIDDLE of my head and a scar to prove it. But fast forward March 2019 I have to get lemonade braids for a perfor mance. She braided it SOOO tight at my CROWN that my scalp looked quilted. It took a week for it to stop hurting but after that it was fine and my hair is fine now. The middle of my head is the coarsest and I already have “4C” hair. Everything has fully grown back but I doubt this is the last horror story lmao.
