A new Look hurt me BADLY

My natural hair horror story happened two years ago.
I was 4 years into the journey and I was tired of wearing puffs and a fro. My hair has always been fragile, so any kind of weave (sew ins, braids, crochet, etc) breaks my hair.
However, I wanted a different look and got box braids. I hoped if she didn't grip my edges it would be fine. When I took them down hair came out all over my head. My hair was sooo thin! My puff and fro didn't look the same and my edges were non-existent.
It took me a year to get it back healthy and thick. I'm still very cautious about wearing weave. I recently did a crochet, but because I've learned that keeping it moisturized is the key, my hair didn't shed at all! Yay!!!
