I am almost 10 years back to natural. I shaved all my hair off after I lost my grandparents and broke up with a guy I had been dating for over 10 years. I needed a fresh start. The first three years were all about learning what my hair liked and needed. I had awesome growth and embraced my texture. I was actually mad I had relaxed so long because I never needed to. Any who, in year four I met and awesome guy and started playing around with color and straightening my hair….big mistake. I washed my hair and it remained bone straight so instead of transitioning I opted to chop it all off again and I grew my hair in to a tapered cut. Year five through eight was so fab. Tapered cuts are so easy to maintain and allowed me the freedom to play around with color and different lengths in my crown area. Year nine, I found out I was pregnant. Very unexpected however, those hormones gave me super thick, luscious long hair. After I gave birth though, that’s when the horror began. My hair started shedding which many refer to as postpartum shedding and initially I really didn’t see much difference. I decided to straighten my hair so I could get a trim and that’s when I discovered several patches missing in my crown area. My hair had severely broken off. I cant really wear my hair down because its noticeable. I mainly keep in in a puff or pony puff because the breakage was so bad. My daughter has opted to make me a wig so I can allow it to grow back without having to chop my hair off again. That’s when I discovered this hair brand that closely resembles my hair texture. I’ve also noticed the hair in my crown has changed texture during my postpartum period and is very dry so I’ve been doing all I can to nurture my hair but its been an ongoing struggle.
